Ingredients

  • Ice
  • 1 1/2 ounces gin
  • 1-ounce saffron simple syrup, recipe follows
  • 1-ounce fresh lemon juice
  • Splash club soda
  • Lemon peel, for garnish
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon saffron

Instructions

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with some ice. Add gin, simple syrup and fresh lemon juice. Shake. Strain into an ice-filled Collins glass and top with a splash of club soda. Garnish with a lemon peel.;
  2. In a sauce pan over high heat, combine all the ingredients. Bring to a boil, and when sugar is fully dissolved remove from the heat. Let cool for 20 minutes, then strain.
